Shalala Ramen – Mountain View, CA (Bay Area)

We came here on a Saturday evening. As usual, it was a little hard to find a parking, so we parked on the street. Shalala is located on the corner of Dana St. and Hope St, easy to spot.

The place was full, but we were able to get seated in 10 minutes.

As for appetizer, we ordered Yaki Onigiri and Pepper Karaage. Yak Onigiri was good, crispy on the outside and moist inside. Pepper Karaage was disappointed, it tasted like Panda Express fried chicken, it has a sweet and pepper sauce and crunchy, but just taste like Panda Express fried Chicken.

Spicy Miso Ramen, noodles were on the harder side, which was ok, I liked my noodles a little chew-ier. You can choose the level of spicy-ness, I got the medium spicy. The broth was weird, it was way too creamy and thick. Oh, and no egg in the Spicky Miso Ramen. Come on now, I am pretty sure they can throw in an egg for the price they charged.

Niku Moyashi Spicy Miso Ramen … the broth was a little sweeter, maybe because of the minced meat?? I found their meats were sweeter than other places. It does include an egg, perfectly boiled, still runny inside.

Shalala is ok, but I probably won’t make an effort to Mountain View just for that.
