I specifically picked this place for my birthday dinner. I really wanted to try out this place for a while and glad I did. Parking was a pain, lucky hubby is good at finding street parking! Reservation is highly recommended. We made at reservation at 7pm and didn’t have to wait; this place was fully packed. We observed some walk-ins with 1 – 1.5 hours wait. So yeah, make reservation!
There is a bar packed with people.
We ordered Ham Plate as appetizer – prosciutto, taleggio cheese, and gnocco frittos, apricot mustard. A very good portion for 2 people. The prosciutto were thinly slice, goes very well with the cheese and gnooco. I stuffed it like a little pocket, it was very good.
My absolutely favorite Squid Ink Casareccia Pasta – please order this one!!! The black colored pasta, clams, calamari, mixed with a light refreshing tomato sauce. It was really good. The calms were so plump and fresh. Overall had a strong medley taste. I want more!
Also ordered the simple Margherita Pizza – simple yet delicious! Perfect thin crispy crust! One of the best we had in Bay Area.
Finally we decided to have dinner here as well. Ordered the Chocolate/Vanilla Swirl with Olive Oil and Sea Salt + Side Pistachio Toffee. A very unqiue combination with olive oil and sea salt, it enhanced the texture, very buttery. You can skip the toffee, nothing special. There were other toppings to pick from. The ice cream was good, but I guess I am not really a big of the olive oil combination. If you have a chance, do give it a try!
I think the bill came to be around $70 (not including tips). I definitely want to come back for the squid ink pasta and pizza.
